Hola! Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is 'Ana' and I come from the region of Cadiz in Andalucia, Southern Spain.
I currently work full-time as a Spanish private tutor and am very lucky that many of my pupils have studied with me on a long term basis.
As a Spaniard my students benefit from listening, and learning pronunciation from a native Spanish speaker, which is a great advantage for learners to understand the local dialects when visiting Spain or other Spanish speaking countries. This also builds confidence to pronounce words correctly and to use adequate intonation.
Over the last seven years I have gained lots of experience teaching Spanish to adults and children, individually and in groups. Teaching is geared to the level required by the student and modified dependent on their reason for learning Spanish.
I am very passionate about teaching and always aim to make the learning experience enjoyable for the students.
I am happy to share my students feedback, you can view some of this feedback under my 'Students' Comments' section.
Both Spanish as spoken in Spain and Latin American Spanish are covered. Lessons are always interactive with plenty of Spanish and Latin American culture embedded in the sessions. All levels are catered for, from beginners Spanish for holidays, to A level, and also those looking for Spanish conversation. Both individual and small groups can be accommodated. The normal format is an informal activity-based approach in a very friendly environment.
My teaching method varies depending on the student's age, level, learning goal, educational and cultural background. However, the four linguistic processes: speaking, listening, reading and writing are included in order to develop the learners' communicative competence, which is the goal of my teaching programme.
Lessons can take place at my office, a local coffee shop or at your home depending on preference. I also provide Skype Spanish lessons online or lessons by phone if you would like to practise your conversational skills.
